Republican senator Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire is running for reelection this year, and her campaign is using unorthodox techniques to try to win voters’ hearts. Consider, for example, this picture taken on the campaign trail by political reporter Josh McElveen:
Who wouldn’t get turned on by an Ayotte-branded condom? (“Hey baby,” your boo whispers as he unbuttons your shirt. “I got this special condom I know you’re going to love. It’s from New Hampshire’s junior senator.”) Just two questions: Do New Hampshire voters know that Ayotte’s proposed bill to make birth control available over the counter would end the Affordable Care Act’s requirement that all insurance plans cover contraception at no cost to the patient? And does Ayotte know that condoms are already available over the counter?
