Rihanna or a High School Girl on Instagram: Who Wore It Best?

High school student Alexis Carter was extremely pleased to find this unusual dress/jumpsuit, an exact replica of one Rihanna famously wore on the red carpet, so she decided to wear it to prom. Her reward for this bit of sartorial daring was seeing her picture go viral as people photoshopped it and tagged it #PromBat on Twitter. But things really got sour when Rihanna herself joined in, making fun of Carter by tweeting the above picture with a frowny face and making a fairly unfunny joke about the Wu-Tang Clan logo.

But forget all that. The important question here is: Who wore it best?

Rihanna: On the plus side, love the bold green tone. But the pose is typical and stagey and seems like she's just trying a little too hard. It's a skin tight jumpsuit, Rihanna! You don't need to work it to make it sexy.

Alexis Carter: I'm not usually a fan of black for prom, but who needs a punch of color with those sleeves? Also, Carter utterly masters the pose. There is no pretension, just pure love of fun and fashion.

Winner: Carter, hands down. The spread arms and the goofy facial expression—she truly embodies the DGAF attitude that Rihanna is supposed to be the master of. Instead of teasing her, Rihanna could probably learn a thing or two from her young style protégé. First lesson: If you've got wings, use em.
