"I'm here representing 150 million women in America," Maryland Sen. Barbara Mikulski said just now . Women are "bewitched, bothered, and bewildered" about what the House of Representatives is trying to do to them with H.R. 1 , which eliminates financing to Planned Parenthood and slashes funding for childcare, Mikulski explained. "They're mad as hell and they're not going to take it anymore," Mikulski said.
Joining her in denouncing H.R. 1 are her Democratic colleagues Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, Sen. Patty Murray and others. To watch their passionate speeches unfold until 3 p.m., click here to see the C-SPAN2 livestream (this is probably the only time I will ever type that phrase). At a moment when it feels like support for women's health is so embattled, it is heartening to hear these women fighting so fiercely against this noxious bill.
