You know your viral project has made it big when the president joins in. Obama’s YouTube message about bullying to gay kids, via Dan Savage’s It Gets Better project, is super inclusive and to me reads as wholly sincere. I like how he referenced his own experience and told kids to talk to someone they trust without sounding like a dorky PSA. Andrew Sullivan thinks it’s the first time a president has sent his support to gay Americans from the White House. I wonder if it’s the first time a president has said “LGBT” in a speech, too.
