Lion Cubs Taking Their Swim Test Is Exactly as Adorable as You Think It Is

What’s cuter than watching lion cubs learn how to swim? Trick question. Nothing is cuter than watching lions cubs learn how to swim. Don’t believe me? Well, allow me to present the video above as Exhibit A.

The two and a half minutes of amazingness depicts four 10-week-old African lions taking their swim test at the National Zoo in Washington D.C.—a requirement for all young big cats at the zoo, who must prove that they can handle the many perils of their artificial domain before moving to the main exhibition area.

The quartet of adorable cubs all passed with flying colors, as, after being dropped unceremoniously into the outdoor enclosure’s pool, they all managed to lion paddle back to the moat’s edge and climb safely onto dry land. Now, according to the Washington Post, they’ll all undergo a few more tests, and if all goes according to plan will rejoin their mother in June.

Happy friday, everyone. This is my gift to you. You’re welcome.
