Rachel Maddow spends quite a long time to spin an alternative theory of what Twitter (and Slate readers) have started to call #Bridgeghazi. Fort Lee and the George Washington Bridge entrance happen to be in the legislative district of the state senate’s Democratic leader. What if she, not the poor mayor, was the target of the pressure?
Interesting theory, but Weinberg was utterly safe at re-election—why do this in September? I think the more revealing answers/questions will emerge 1) when we learn who actually emailed “is it wrong that I’m smiling” and 2) when more documents are released today.
