Extremely Modest Turnout at Benghazi Memorial Rally

There are not one but three events around the Capitol today to memorialize the four Americans murdered in Benghazi one year ago. They started with a 10 a.m. press conference asking for a select committee to investigate this; they continued with a rally on the West Lawn. Not to focus too much attention on optics, but it was a fairly shambolic affair, with the hundred or so protesters unsure of when the events would start. Noon? Half-past? When the “Million Muslim March” arrived at the Capitol from Pennsylvania Avenue? It ended up starting shortly before 1, and it looked like this: photo (19) The lawn didn’t fill much more than that; a dozen or so people hid out in the shade (it’s 90 degrees today, and humid), off camera. As to what was said, I’ll have more on that later.
