The Bradley Manning Victory

(Not) free at last. But not an enemy aider either.

When the Bradley Manning verdict came down yesterday, I was trolling around the Senate, asking for reactions. Here’s what I came up with—general satisfaction that Manning would go to jail, some disappointment that he wasn’t convicted of “aiding the enemy.” Had he been, and had the precedent been established that merely leaking information that terrorists could use was treason, national security journalism would have changed forever.

In other news, the Taiwanese news team had its way with this issue.

That about covers it.
