Netroots Nation: D.C. –> San Jose

A program announcement: I’ll be in San Jose for the next few days, covering the eighth annual Netroots Nation conference. No disrespect meant to the hosts and organizers, but the lead-up chatter among some activists and reporters (i.e., the ones I know) has been: What’s the story this year? Nobody wants another “liberals give up on Obama” groupthink fest. (Those stories from 2011 hold up poorly). Immigration’s prominent on the agenda, and the focus of some of the reporting I have planned, but the next progressive priority is … ? Progressives aren’t as conference-crazed as conservatives (there have been three major Rethink confabs on the right this year, already), so this is the first chance in a while for the movement to butt heads, be pandered to by labor, etc.
