Paranoia for Fun and Profit

My latest piece was reported in the short distance between the IRS building and Capitol Hill. In the latter space, members of Congress were conducting ths second of three planned days of hearings with IRS officials, and winding up a little frustrated that the buck was stopping with those guys and not Barack Obama. In the former, Tea Party activists rallied outside America’s least popular government building, asking when and how the scandal would expose the Chicago-style politics behind the audits of rich conservatives – again, probably prodded by Barack Obama. This is the reason you’re hearing calls for an independent counsel. The IG’s conclusions on the IRS, that the organization screwed up, doesn’t fit with the narrative. Not yet.
