As my colleagues at the Slatest have been telling you, the entire 100-page trove of redacted Benghazi emails (from the White House to the CIA to State and back again) has been released in the convenient 5 p.m. hour. Here at last is the Telltale Edit, the revision made after State complained about all the background info being dished.
But there are other highlights. The day this draft was being scratched out, this email was sent, referring to the FBI pursuing some leads about Al Qaeda.
This is the email sent to Maryland Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger, who was asking for a usable draft of talking points. It was sent after the scratched-out version.
And this is apparently what Jay Carney referred to last year when he could name only a cosmetic change to the talking points, something about the term “consulate.”
That FBI reference aside, I don’t see much new that hadn’t been shaken lose by The Weekly Standard.
“The State Department Had Major Reservations With Much or Most of the Document.’
