Meanwhile, in the Senate

It will be buried today, and another wrinkle in the immigration debate will get its own story from me shortly, but here, from last night, is my brief look inside the Marco Rubio Message Machine. I followed the senator around as he toured the Hold Their Feet to the Fire radio-thon in D.C., finding and mostly defeating five hosts who wanted to define his bill as “amnesty.” My take: Hey, it is amnesty! But Rubio’s the beneficiary (and master) of a long campaign to rule out “amnesty” as a term that can be used to describe reform.
