In 2013, How Does a Democrat Defend His Vote Against Obamacare?

On April 30, Massachusetts Democrats will choose their candidate in the less-and-less dramatic special election for U.S. Senate. Last night, Rep. Ed Markey and Rep. Steve Lynch debated for the nomination. Three and a half minutes in, Lynch had to answer for the issue that weakened him from the word "go": Why did he vote against the Affordable Care Act? The answer at the time, everybody thought, was that Lynch didn't want to cast a vote that might one day fund abortions. He's streamlined the spin since then.
