I'm doing more cutting and pasting today than I ever like to do, but in the continuing effort to inform people of what was actually proposed and done today, I'm putting up the executive orders already signed by the president. The first is a memo to law enforcement heads on new guidelines for tracing firearms.
The second: Directing the CDC to study "the causes of gun violence."
Finally, an order directing law enforcement to make everything available to the National Criminal Background Check System.
Be wary of news sources breathing hard about "23 executive orders." There are not 23 executive orders. There are a few orders, and a lot of actions that will come later.
