Opening Act: Yes, Virginia

Major Garrett makes some news here, almost:

It is uncharacteristic of Team Obama to concede any terrain, but Plouffe offered no such assurances about Obama’s position in North CarolinaVirginia, or Florida. Romney advisers have seen big gains in all three states and now consider wins likely, although not guaranteed, in all three.

But the president is stumping in Virginia tomorrow. North Carolina’s one thing – there are dozens of scenarios that give Obama the win without it – but Obama’s polling only slightly weaker in Virginia than he did four years ago, when he took it by five points. Are we at the end of the boundless Romney momentum cycle?

But she also says she’s worried about the deficit: “$16 trillion in debt is a huge figure.”
