Return of the Credulous Moms

I asked readers to help me track a fun-yet-lazy trend in Republican ad-making: Candidates trotting out their moms to swear that they could no more renounce Medicare than renounce them what raised ‘em. Here’s Jackie Walorski, a near-miss candidate in an Indiana swing district who’s expected to take over the newly reddened open seat.

Here’s Rep. Mike Coffman, who represents the Denver exurbs, and is newly targeted after a few easy years.

And here we have Tom Smith, the first-time candidate making a decent run at Sen. Bob Casey.

I’ve yet to see any Democrat do this, not even to respond to the massively misleading $787 billion “Medicare cuts” issue.
