“I’m Going to Give the President the Benefit of the Doubt”

I lack the science to make an embedded clip out of it, but at roughly 1:42:55 in today’s Senate floor speeches, Orrin Hatch steps gingerly off message for a second. He starts to hit the president on his disdain for small business, and the “you didn’t build that” fooferah, then pauses. “I’m going to give the president the benefit of the doubt on that one,” he says. “I think he maybe misspoke.”

Spoken like a man who doesn’t have to worry about another election until 2018.
