Obama Rebuts ‘Doing Fine’ Attack Ads

Sam Stein at the Huffington Post gets hold of an Obama TV spot airing in key swing states (but unannounced by his campaign) that responds to Republican Super PACs that have been pummeling him with his “the private sector is doing fine” gaffe in their ads:

The re-election campaign apparently decided it couldn’t let GOP charges that the president was dismissing lingering economic anxiety go unanswered. But more than anything else, this reflects the same approach Obama’s first presidential operation took in 2008: don’t let any attack go unanswered, and respond quickly and aggressively on the air.
