Poll: Public Thinks Occupy’s Over, Tea Party’s Still (Barely) Useful

The gist of the NBC/WSJ poll: Barack Obama leads Mitt Romney narrowly, but by a far smaller margin than their relative popularity would lead you to expect. Buried a little deeper: Two questions about the movements that, however briefly, assigned priorities to the Democrats and the Republicans. Screen shot 2012-04-19 at 6.37.40 PM That’s a fairly significant gap. We don’t get a partisan breakdown, but my educated guess is that Democrats and independents don’t feel the same affinity for a movement that their politicians and media figures stopped endorsing at some point in late December.
