The Romney Surge in Wisconsin

February’s Marquette poll of the Wisconsin primary only harvested opinions from 424 registered voters. The new poll goes to 349 likely voters. That’s a fishy change-up, but if we take it at face value this is the trend:

Mitt Romney - 39 (+21)
Rick Santorum - 31 (-3)
Ron Paul - 8 (-9)
Newt Gingrich - 7 (-5)

Screen this next to the CNN poll, which has a majority of Republicans keen on Gingrich and Paul leaving the race. The long-awaited shrug toward Romney is finally happening, starting a week from tonight, if Romney wins Maryland, D.C., and Wisconsin.
