I count 8 songs from the 21st century, 9 if you count the Soggy Bottom Boys cover of the old standard. The two Killers choices honor probably the most popular band composed of Mormons. The Kid Rock track is Romney's theme, driven into the eardrums of his reporting detail like Asami Yamazaki's needles in Audition. The two Orbison songs are among the most melancholy pop songs ever; the the whole list, actually, is surprisingly forlorn.
