A Children's Crusade for Santorum

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Rick Santorum has two offices in the Volunteer state. Every poll still shows him leading; a Public Policy Polling survey suggests that he's banked enough early votes to survive a narrow election-day loss. I stopped by Santorum's office here in the late morning and found a small bustle of activity between walls covered in voter contact goals and signs like this:

I couldn't get over how young the GOTV team was. Most of the phones were manned by pre-teens, reading from scripts. The average age at the phone banks couldn't have been more than 23.
