James O’Keefe, Libel Hunter

Last week, Current TV teased a bombshell story: There was a new “rape allegation” against James O’Keefe, from a woman who claimed to have been harassed as she worked with the video journalist. In the broadcast, David Schuster referred to O’Keefe as a “convicted felon.” But there were problems with the story. There was no rape allegation. O’Keefe was not and is not a “felon.” A few days after the broadcast, O’Keefe tweeted a warning: The warning hung in the ether for days. Finally, after 1 a.m. last night, Schuster tweeted a response.
It was too late. O’Keefe was about to file a complaint; I’ve posted the complaint here.
