Opening Act: Sunshine

TAMPA, Fla. -- On the way down here, I toted a souvenir from South Carolina: a "Newt 2012" sign that was being trashed after a speech. From Columba through Atlanta through Tampa, six people (five women, one man) stopped me to gush about how much they loved the candidate. And all of them claimed to have backed Newt from the very beginning, never wavering; no front-runner fans chasing a surge, here.

For the moment, "here" is at a Mitt Romney roundtable with business owners.
