HARLAN, Iowa – Rick Perry spent around an hour walking the main square of this western Iowa town, dipping in and out of local shops, getting into some long conversations at The Coffee Plant. I filmed this quick conversation (extra audio added by the cappucino machine) between Perry and Bill Rollins, a handyman who said he appreciated Perry’s campaign ad about the “war on Christianity.”
“I think there is a war on faith,” he said. There were only a few candidates who seemed to ready to fight back. Newt Gingrich wasn’t one of them, thanks to his divorces. I’m seeing small crowds for Perry, but a good deal of talk like this.
