For some reason, according to the WSJ/NBC poll, 46 percent of voters say this is one of the worst Congresses ever, and 1 percent say it’s one of the best. Compare this to December 1995, the first year of the Gingrich/Dole Congress, when 7 percent said it was one of the best, and 16 percent said one of the worst. Also, the fact that 45 percent are set against supporting Barack Obama – the highest ever – cuts against the “good news” that he’s up 11 on Newt Gingrich.
But Gingrich is also at 40 percent – the first candidate to soar that high in the GOP primary.
