My new piece is up right here: It portrays a fairly slow but revealing day on the trail with Ron Paul, the oft-ignored candidate who expected to beat the snot out out all but one candidate in Nevada. (If he beats Mitt Romney, it’d be somewhat historic. That’s not a bet many people would make at present.)
Two things to add here.
1) On Tuesday, I asked Paul’s svengali Jesse Benton why the candidate wasn’t hitting Rick Perry as hard as he once did. “Perry just fell too fast,” explained Benton. “Ron doesn’t punch down.”
2) In 2008, I stopped in Nevada to talk to the libertarians wondering what to do with their votes, post-Paul. I think the piece holds up well.
