Obama Uses the Boos

ThinkProgress reports that the president made a San Jose fundraiser worthwhile for donors by going after the four or five idiots who yelled things at the last two GOP debate.

You’ve got audiences cheering at the prospect of somebody dying because they don’t have health care and booing a service member in Iraq because they’re gay. That’s not reflective of who we are.

Again, maybe five people cheered or booed at these things; a glance at the top five stories enjoyed by ThinkProgress readers informs me that three of them are about the booing for the gay soldier. People are 1) legitimately angry about the disrespect (heck, so was I) and 2) drinking deep in the irony that Republicans booed a soldier. In the Bush years, the left got awfully tired of being accused of troop-hatred, and in 2009 it got awfully tired of being accused of wanting to euthanize old people and use their bone marrow to power Barack Obama’s campaign bus.
