Speechgate 2011: The Boehner Ultimatum

The Speaker of the House has made Ron Paul’s job a little easier, and gone ahead with a request that the Big Speech be moved from September 7 (the day of the GOP debate) to September 8 (the start of the NFL season). The letter poses this as a pure logistical concern.
At what point does Gloria Allred show up? Someone is going to do a tick-tock of how and why a decision that is typically undertaken with the House and Senate’s okay has been bungled so quickly.
UPDATE: Newt Gingrich weighs in: Is anyone not reminded of the time Newt Gingrich complained that he didn’t get time to jaw with Bill Clinton on Air Force One? No? Okay. The difference was that Gingrich was explicit, whereas Boehner only cites logistical reasons and lets everyone else fill in the detail about how this was a diss.
