The Hill's whip count gives us 25 Republican "nos" against the Boehner plan. If every Democrat votes against it, it can only withstand 24 "nos."
Coincidentally, the vote previously scheduled for 5:45 has been delayed til "later this evening," according to Eric Cantor's office.
This is a nice time to remember that of the 25 "nos," 5 come from the entire GOP delegation from South Carolina. That's 20 percent of the total, and Marin Cogan has explained why. Who are the other "no" votes? Two of them, Ron Paul and Michele Bachmann, are running for president. Three of them, Todd Akin, Jeff Flake, and possibly Jason Chaffetz, have their eyes on U.S. Senate seats.
