Communication Breakdown

Paul Kane et al have the latest on the failing debt negotiations. Based on my conversations on the Hill on Friday, I’m overly optimistic that we might get a short-term deal that takes us to September – enough time to score a Gang of Six-derived plan that members can actually pass. And the announcement of a short-term deal is one of the few things that could calm markets tomorrow.
