The call for tweets for the #AskObama townhall led to a few serious questions that the president answered (after a fashion), and lots of smart-ass questions that didn’t make it. The questions took a couple of different forms. There were the pressure questions that functioned as statements of discontent:
There was pure, rhetorical snark.
There was the less interesting question-that-answers-itself.
There were questions about extremely minor controversies.
And there were smart-ass responses to the smart-ass questions.
