ASPEN, Col. – My new piece, right here, captures the wisdom (and otherwise) about politics here at the Ideas Festival. It will shock no one to tell you that people here think we could fix our political problems if we just abandoned our partisan strongholds. It will shock no one to see how much Alan Simpson curses. Maybe it’ll shock you to learn that Simpson thinks we need tax hikes, and that the pro-Obama elite is confident that it should keep investing in green tech anyway, and that the imam who was ensared by the “Ground Zero mosque” mess really really wants Obama to win in 2012.
