Yesterday saw the official debut of the second life-or-death Republican pledge of the day -- the Cut, Cap, and Balance pledge. The occasion led me to talk to Republicans about whether they're creating something out of nothing with all these demands for loyalty.
Meanwhile, Pawlenty becomes
the third candidate -- Cain, Paul, him -- to sign the debt pledge.
