Mike Lee Rectifies the Language

After a press conference about the “cut, cap, and balance” debt limit pledge, Sen. Mike Lee was asked if he could agree with Tim Geithner and accept revenue increases as part of a deal.

“I’m fine with revenue increases as long as they don’t involve tax increases,” he said. “There are other ways of expanding revenue. They could expand the use federal public lands, the extention of oil and gas leases. If they want that kind of revenue increase, I’m all for it.”

No tax increases?

“No, no,” he said. “We can’t afford a double-dip recession.”

It’s amazing to watch some local jargon get mulched like that.
