Palin Barrels into Wisconsin Judicial Race, Endorses Prosser

She tweeted the endorsement this morning .

Wisconsin, please remember to vote for Justice Prosser on April 5.

Problem: Sarah Palin is horrifically unpopular in Wisconsin. A PPP poll* this month had Barack Obama beating her by 19 points in a theoretical presidential race; her favorable rating is 32 percent. But remember the context that the election’s happening in. Democrats are angry and energized, and the Greater Wisconsin Committee has badly outspent Republicans to drive up Prosser’s negatives – which is usually all you need to knock out an incumbent judge. For Republicans to win, they need to remind their voters that there’s an election happening on Tuesday. This helps; even the news that Pat Lucey is bailing on the Prosser campaign helps raise their awareness.

*Read Molly Ball on how PPP, despite doing work for liberals, is pretty unimpeachable for its results.
