Conservatives Re-Discover Wisconsin

National Review publishes Robert Costa’s story about the Wisconsin judicial election, then puts out an editorial endorsing GOP incumbent David Prosser.

Prosser cannot solicit contributions to aid his campaign under this onslaught. But you can help his campaign by helping the Wisconsin Club for Growth (donate here ) or donating to Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (donate online here ; fax donation form here ).

It is important that conservatives nationwide make this campaign their own. What is at stake in Wisconsin is not just one piece of legislation or one bill restoring a measure of sanity to the state budgeting process. The question to be answered in Wisconsin is: Who works for whom? Do the public employees work for the citizens, or are the citizens mere cattle to be disposed of at the pleasure of the bureaucrats and their union bosses? Every arrow in the quiver — court cases, judicial elections, recall, lawsuits, lies, libels, and brute thuggery — will be thrown at this case, along with lots of money derived from the union dues that state and local governments helpfully deduct from their employees’ paychecks on the unions’ behalf. Wisconsin may seem an unlikely battleground, but a line must be drawn, and this is the place to draw it.

That’s a meatier endorsement than NR gave, say, Mitt Romney. Meanwhile, the Tea Party Express is asking for support for its Wisconsin PAC.

We told you this weekend about the critical election taking place one week fromtomorrow for the Wisconsin Supreme Court.  If we lose, then liberals will block Gov. Scott Walker’s new budget relief legislation and BarackObama and the labor unions will win.

It would be devastating for conservativesand constitutionalists if we lose.  Every Republican Governor across America would cave to Obama and theunions on every issue imaginable - heck a lot of them do that now already, just think what climate it would be like if we ended up losingin Wisconsin after we had initially obtained a great victory.

We here at the Tea Party   Express have just opened a new Wisconsin State PAC and are launching a campaign to support the conservative Supreme Court Justice andoppose the radical leftist opposing him.   We can now reveal to you, our supporters, that we are justfinishing a new TV ad which we will unveil to you tomorrow and which will run statewide across Wisconsin.

We must raise $45,000 in the next 36 hours to get our first round of TV ads on the airwaves.   You can now donate to our Wisconsin State PAC - DONATE HERE .

The election is in six days. The situations obviously aren’t identical, but I’m remembering the Democratic freak-out over the 2010 Massachusetts special election. Three weeks out, when I was calling Democratic strategists, they were totally confident that Martha Coakley would win, albeit narrowly. Then a few of them hit the ground and realized she had badly fumbled the election. They poured in millions of dollars for the final 10 days, but couldn’t resurrect her.
