The debate over the three-week continuing resolution might be repetitive -- in speeches Republicans either grudgingly support it or grudgingly oppose it, Democrats just oppose it -- but it is leading to some entertaining fatigue. How do Republicans keep making the same point, that the impasse is all Democrats' fault?
"They left the American people with this pile of crap," said Rep. Mike Simpson, R-Idaho. "They should not complain about how to clean it up."
No other Republican goes there for his metaphor, but none of them disagree. "Somebody asked the question, is this the best way to fund the government?" asked Rep. Clay Shaw, R-Fla., visibly annoyed. "No way!"
