I snapped the above photo at last night's FreedomWorks party, a fete to celebrate and show off the organization's new offices. Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, showed up briefly to talk to FreedomWorks President Matt Kibbe (right) and other staffers, some of whom he recognized from prior policy fights.
Hatch was preceded, by about an hour, by an even unlikelier visitor -- Sen. Richard Lugar, R-Ind. While the FreedomWorks jury is out on Hatch, the organization's activists are all but ready to take on Lugar. Other members of Congress who showed up to visit the offices, which was stocked with quarter kegs of Allagash White and Starr Hill and platters of savory snacks -- Rep. Steve King, Rep. Marsha Blackburn, Rep. Jeff Flake, Rep. Tom Price, and Sen. James Inhofe.
