Gary Johnson’s long national nightmare is over. Hours after Politico reported that he’d missed out on a speaking slot, he’s got one – he will address the annual conservative conference at 9:30 a.m. on Friday. (This is a better time than the one he had at the last conference I saw him at, the 2010 Southern Republican Leadership Conference, where he spoke to a mostly empty room at the end of the day.)

Previously, Johnson had been told there was not room for him on the program, but is now looking forward to the opportunity to address CPAC membership and highlight issues such as cutting spending, economic reform, marijuana legalization, gay rights and ending the war in Afghanistan.
Johnson will come between a panel on “public attitudes toward security” and a panel on “cutting spending.” He’s the first presidential candidate of the day; Mitt Romney speaks an hour later.
