It was Florida GOP Chairman Jim Greer who, in September 2009, kicked off a truly stupid week-long debate about President Obama’s speech to schoolchildren by calling it indoctrination for his “socialist” agenda.
The Democrats have clearly lost the battle to maintain controlof the message this summer, so now that school is back in session,President Obama has turned to American’s children to spread his liberallies, indoctrinating American’s youngest children before they have achance to decide for themselves.
Today, Greer is awaiting trial on six felony counts related to corruption during his tenure. And he’s changed!
In the year since I issued a prepared statement regardingPresident Obama speaking to the nation’s school children, I havelearned a great deal about the party I so deeply loved and served.Unfortunately, I found that many within the GOP have racist views and Iapologize to the President for my opposition to his speech last yearand my efforts to placate the extremists who dominate our Party today.My children and I look forward to the President’s speech.
It’s an inspiring thing, the power of an indictment. It even changed the way that Greer’s children are anticipating the speech – perhaps they’re hoping to hear Obama talk about a very special pardon.
Very infrequently do we get proof that an “outrage” was totally ginned up for political reasons. Let’s relish this one.
