Tupac-Inspired Alligator Discovered Guarding Weed Stash

Police outside of Oakland, Calif. were conducting a routine probation check when they discovered a live alligator guarding a huge stash of marijuana on Tuesday.

The gator, named Mr. Teeth, was purchased by 32-year-old Assif Mayar in 1996 to commemorate the death of rapper Tupac Shakur. Measuring 5 feet, the alligator was kept in a glass tank, apparently deterring thieves from the 34 pounds of pot stored nearby.

Mr. Mayar was taken to the Santa Rita Jail. Mr. Teeth was taken to the Oakland Zoo.
