Fans got no satisfaction, literally, from the Rolling Stones’ kickoff concert for their “50th and Counting” anniversary tour.
“Satisfaction,” the iconic rockers’ most famous song, was dropped from their encore to adhere to a strict 11 p.m. local sound curfew, disappointing many of the 20,000 fans in attendance at the O2 arena in London.
Still, the Stones did play a number of hits during their two-and-a-half hour set, including “Paint it Black,” “Start Me Up,” and one of their early gems, “It’s All Over Now.” The show also included a video tribute to the aging rockers and blues and rock legends of yesteryear.
The Stones head across the pond next month to play a series of dates in the New York tri-state area—and without a curfew, “Satisfaction” is guaranteed.
