Blake Shelton Crowned King of CMAs

Blake Shelton has taken home top honors at the Country Music Awards, winning three awards including entertainer of the year.

Shelton, a long-time country star whose national profile has skyrocketed thanks to NBC’s The Voice, was the big winner at the award show held in Nashville. Besides entertainer of the year, he picked up his third straight award for male vocalist of the year as well as song of the year honors, which he shared with his wife Miranda Lambert. The song “Over You” was co-written by the couple, who married last May, and was performed by Lambert.

That win also provided the night’s most emotional moment. At the podium, Shelton talked about the song’s inspiration: the death of his brother in a car accident and his late father’s urging him to write about it.
