Breaking with the Republican Party for a second time, former Secretary of State Colin Powell has endorsed Barack Obama for president in 2012. Pointing to the current administration’s progress on foreign policy and health care, the retired four-star general, who voted for Obama in 2008, said that he “signed on for a long patrol with President Obama.” Appearing on CBS This Morning, Powell explained that in the past four years “We’ve come out of the dive and we’re starting to gain altitude” and took Mitt Romney to task for bad math in his economic plan and flip-flopping on matters overseas: “I’m not quite sure which Gov. Romney we would be getting.”
