Sometimes, even the United Nations secretary general can’t resist YouTube stars—which probably explains why Ban Ki-moon welcomed viral rapper Psy and extreme skydiver Felix Baumgartner to U.N. headquarters this week.
Although Baumgartner offered to give Ban skydiving lessons, Ban seemed especially delighted by Psy, joking that his fellow South Korean had surpassed him as the most famous Korean in the world. Psy seemed genuinely touched, noting Ban’s outsize reputation in their homeland and adding, “This is much more better feeling than when I did No. 2 on Billboard.”
But the real takeaway from the visit, at least for the Internet, came when Psy gave Ban a tutorial on his now-iconic "Gangnam Style" dance. Even Psy couldn't help laughing.
