Drake Has a New Reason To Be Proud of Drake: A High School Diploma

Drake has a new reason to be super-duper proud of Drake: The 25-year-old rapper received his high school diploma 10 years after dropping out.

Aubrey “Drake” Graham, left real high school to attend a fictional high school when he was cast on Canada’s Degrassi: The Next Generation at age 15. Over 138 episode, Drake played Jimmy, a gregarious basketball player who—spoiler alert—became disabled after being the victim of a school shooting.

Drake supported his family with his Canadian TV salary while releasing multiple mixtapes that generated hype for his rapping career. He eventually signed with Lil’ Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment in 2009 and released two studio albums to large commercial and critical success.

And though Drake has already claimed to be “overdosed on confidence,” the rapper described his 88 percent passing grade on his final course as “one of the greatest feelings in my entire life.”
