Lance Armstrong Isn’t Even Good for Charity Anymore

Lance Armstrong apparently can’t even do charity anymore. The disgraced cyclist has announced he will step down from LIVESTRONG, his foundation for cancer victims, following the doping scandal that led to a lifetime ban from his sport.

The news broke the same morning Nike officially terminated its contract with Armstrong, saying he “misled” the company about his doping for more than a decade. Nike long stood by the scrutinized Armstrong, but it appears the final straw was the devastating USADA report published last week, which portrayed Armstrong not only as a doper, but as a drug kingpin during his career.

Nike, in one bright spot, will continue to support LIVESTRONG, which Armstrong founded in 1997 after he survived testicular cancer. But it’s clear that Armstrong’s own legacy has hit rock bottom.
