In newly released letters written to the judge who sentenced him, Jerry Sandusky and his wife Dottie lashed out at all the people they blamed for his downfall. The list, of course, doesn’t include Jerry Sandusky.
Just before he was sentenced to 30 to 60 years in prison for molesting 10 boys, the former Penn State assistant football coach and his wife claimed to be victims of a vast conspiracy. Sandusky, who still says he is innocent, has blamed the media, Penn State, prosecutors, and “the system.” But this time, Sandusky also attacked his victims, calling them liars and questioning their character. He suggested that they could not be trusted because they came from unstable homes. He saved especially harsh criticism for his adopted son Matt, who claims he was also a victim of abuse.
Sandusky now heads to prison for the rest of his life, where he is almost certain to have further complaints about “the system.”
