Surprise: Nicki Minaj Goes Off On Mariah Carey in Viral American Idol Video

Rumors of unrest on American Idol between new judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey became reality during auditions in North Carolina, and of course TMZ has the video footage.

Swearing at Carey, Minaj threatens to knock her out. Carey stokes the fight, asking, “Oh why, why do I have a 3-year-old sitting around me?” Veteran judge Randy Jackson tries to get control of the situation, repeatedly calling for a time out, while fellow Idol freshman Keith Urban sits uneasily in shocked silence.

There’s been friction between the two since Minaj officially joined the judges’ panel last month. While it seems as if the feud might be a boon to the fading 10-year-old show, producers are apparently nervous Carey and Minaj will not be able to coexist.
